In October 2015, national property and construction company Hindmarsh announced a three-year sponsorship of Canberra Glassworks to establish the inaugural Hindmarsh Prize, which will recognise, celebrate and promote excellence and appreciation of the world-class artists working in glass who live and practice in the ACT and surrounding region.

Hindmarsh CEO Rowan Hindmarsh said the sponsorship furthers the company’s commitment to supporting the arts.

"Hindmarsh has been a passionate supporter of the arts, sharing a passion to support the communities we work within."

“Throughout its 30 year history Hindmarsh has been a passionate supporter of the arts, sharing a passion to support the communities we work within. This sponsorship aligns closely with Hindmarsh as a business,” Mr Hindmarsh said.

“We are proud to support Canberra Glassworks and the many talented and innovative artists the organisation works with,” he said.

“The Hindmarsh Prize is a wonderful opportunity to promote the work of ACT and region artists working in glass. The Canberra Glassworks is excited that this program can be realised through generous sponsorship from Hindmarsh, led by Executive Chairman John Hindmarsh,” said Nola Anderson, Chair, Canberra Glassworks.

“John Hindmarsh has been an active supporter of the artistic community and the Canberra Glassworks over many years and we look forward very much to working with Hindmarsh on this new venture,” she added.
